How do i format my laptop without hard disk drives?

I was trying to re-install Windows XP to my Acer Laptop but it appeared on the screen ‘Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer’. Thus, the setup cannot continue. Previously, I’ve recovered some important data using a software called Puppy Linux. What should I do now? I’m really at wit’s end.

Probably you have an AHCI SATA controller.
Go into your BIOS settings and temporarily disable AHCI, then install Xp.

After you’ve installed XP and the proper drivers, you can re-enable AHCI.
