I was on the lookout for a container for my laptop lunches for myself and I discovered a couple of really good versatile lunch boxes.  It’s fun getting creative in terms of figuring out what to pack each day, what little snacks and surprises you can sneak into the boxes,

Bento has been making lunch boxes for years and they really do have the best variety. I really liked the idea of the Bento box. Overall it is convenient and portable so that you can fit a lot of little snacks inside of the box. If you wanted more room for a sandwich you could always reconfigure the boxes or take some out. The only thing I don’t understand is why two of the boxes don’t come with lids. It kind of prohibits you from packing more stuff that might spill or leak.

If you’ve ever struggled coming up with new ideas for lunches for your kids, this book is for you. It’s also full of very useful information about nutrition and health. Then there is a very useful Laptop Lunch User’s Guide which has so many great ideas for making creative, healthy lunches that children love. The book features nutritional requirements, strategies for improving lunchtime nutrition, tips for picky eaters, and suggestions for smart shopping, quick-reference shopping lists, waste reduction tips, creative lunch menus, and kid-friendly recipes. The Bento 2.0 kit is a good start, but I’d recommend anyone ordering one adds a couple of extra sets of inner containers as well as a set or two of Bento Buddies to the order. That will not only give you more options in terms of what you can pack, but if you’re like me and the last thing you feel like doing when you get home from work is cleaning out a ton of little boxes, you can just throw them in the dishwasher and use a clean set for the next day’s lunch. I’d also advise picking up one of the larger carrying cases as these have a shoulder strap and handle (much easier to carry that way!) and has room to squeeze in something to drink and an extra box (breakfast!), or a thermos of soup
